This luxury resort has adopted a cosmopolitan atmosphere as a result of its popularity; stylish bars and clubs and gourmet restaurants have successfully integrated in this one time farming community. 

Verbier is one of Europe’s premier ski resorts and the largest of the 4 Valley ski region in the Swiss Alps.  Alongside Savoleyres, Bruson and Mt Fort, Verbier is renowned for its skiing prowess.  A ski pass covers Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and La Tzoumaz and includes dedicated nursery slopes, 93 lifts linking runs across the region and access to some of the best off-piste terrain.  With 410kms of varied piste to discover, reaching an altitude of 3300m, Verbier is a ski resort for all abilities.

At 1500m, Verbier is located in a south westerly facing bowl in the Val de Bagnes; a position that maximises the sunshine.  The resort was established only a few decades ago and therefore presents a modern feel about the village.  The properties have been developed in the traditional alpine chalet style of stone and wood.  Luxury chalets are prevalent within the resort, accommodating the more discerning guests, celebrities and VIP clients from around the world.

The main lift is at Médran, a 6 person telecabine that heads up to Les Ruinettes.  From here there are some gentle and intermediate tree lined runs that head back down to Verbier.  Alternatively skiers can head further up by taking the Funispace to Attelas or the Chaux Express over to Le Chaux. On the other side of the resort is Savoleyres with a mixture of beginner and intermediate runs heading down to Verbier or over to La Tzoumaz. Advanced and expert skiers are entertained by the more challenging runs and off-piste potential on Mont Gélé, at Tortin and Chassoure.

Verbier has an excellent snow record.  The ski season usually begins the 2nd week of December and lasts until the end of April.  As the snow melts in spring, outdoor enthusiasts gain access to 400kms of walking trails and 200kms of mountain bike trails, making Verbier a popular all year round resort.
