World of Indulgence (MJD Luxury Holidays Ltd (MJD)) Operated Properties

Booking Your Holiday


Preliminary Reservations - Please telephone our UK office on +44 (0) 1344 849 135 to discuss your holiday requirements and to check the property’s availability for your preferred dates. You may make a preliminary reservation giving you first option on the chalet for a period of three days. At this time you will be sent a personal quotation detailing the reservation. If you do not confirm the booking within the required time, your reservation will lapse and the chalet will be offered to other parties. However, this period can be extended by arrangement if there is no other interest in your chosen date.

Confirming Your Booking - Having read and agreed with our booking conditions, please sign your quotation and post or fax it to us. The required 25% deposit (40% for the weeks of New Year, 1st week of January and February UK school holiday weeks) will need to be paid at the same time.  Final payment is required ten weeks before the vacation start date. Full payment is required if booking within this time. A receipt will be issued when we have received the signed quotation form and payment. Please note that until we have received the signed quotation form and deposit your reservation will be treated as an option only, subject to expiry as above.

Payment - Payment before your holiday is accepted in Euros, £ Sterling, and US dollars by bank transfer, debit card or credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Switch and American Express.  A 2.5% surcharge is payable for credit card and debit card transactions (4% for American Express) which we will automatically add to your payment.  Payment in the resort for additional services taken is accepted in cash (Euros), credit card, debit card and bank transfer but the latter is only possible if we are notified that the funds are in our account before your departure.

Credit card and debit card payments are taken in Euros so if we or Your agent quote prices (holiday or additional services) in anything other than Euros the the spot exchange rate on that day will be used for the currency conversion to Euros.

Additional services (eg ski instructors, lift passes) booked before your arrival must be paid for 7 days before your vacation start date.  Any additional services booked whilst in-resort must be paid for before departure, MJD reserve the right to take payments for these services at the time of booking them for you.  All bank fees associated with any payment by You are to be paid by You and will be deducted from the security deposit.

Travel & Ski Insurance - In order for us to accept your booking and for your own protection, you must have adequate travel and cancellation insurance for all party members. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you purchase is adequate for your party's needs. We do not check policies. We also advise you to purchase the 'Carre Neige' ski insurance when in resort (or we can buy it with your lift passes) in case of an accident on the mountain and you are required to be transported to hospital.  We also recommend that you have relevant insurance that covers accidental damage to third party properties.

Booking Through An Agent - Please send your signed quotation and all payments to your agent through whom all correspondence will be sent unless they direct otherwise. Please do not hesitate to contact MJD directly for any information.

Security Deposit - A 2000 Euro security deposit will be taken with the final installment of your holiday or by credit/debit card on arrival at the property (plus the credit card surcharge).  Some properties require a larger security deposit and this amount will be stated on your quote.  The security deposit is taken to cover any damages caused by You which are identified whilst you are in resort or discovered after your departure.  It also covers any additional services that were not paid for before your departure.  This sum will be returned (less any damage caused by You or unpaid additional service incurred by You) within 7 days of departure.  This period may be delayed further when damage has occurred and quotes for repair have not been received in which case the deposit will be held until MJD has been able to fully assess the cost to be deducted.  You are responsible for the replacement of property keys left in your care; owners may insist that locks are changed if You lose the key and this will be at your cost.  Any work time MJD incurs for replacing, repairing damage caused by You / getting quotes etc will be charged at 65 Euros per hour.

Travelling

Your Flight Arrangements - Please do not book your flights until your chosen holiday dates have been confirmed. Please note the arrival and departure times from the chalet (see below) when making your flight reservation.

Airport Transfers - Your holiday package may include airport transfers via a chauffeured vehicle which takes you directly to and from the resort.  Transfers to and from alternative airports not stated within the quote are possible but additional charges may apply.  Please contact the UK sales office for details.  We accept no responsibility for transfer times as road and weather conditions may vary.

Child seats are available upon request.  You must specify the type and size of child seat required 7 days prior to arrival.  You are responsible for ensuring the seat is fitted correctly within the vehicle and that the child is properly seated and secured before departure.

Arrival and Departure Times at the Property - We would be grateful if you could arrive at the property after 4pm so that it can be fully prepared for You. We request that you vacate the property by 10:30 am on the day of departure.  If you do not comply with the departure time, MJD reserves the right to withhold your security deposit.

Road Directions - Please let us know if you require directions to the property by road.

In The Resort - Where chauffeured vehicles are included within the package, they will be available between 8am and 11pm to drive you anywhere within the resort.  Excursions out of your chosen resort can be arranged (given enough notice) at an additional charge.  This charge will be added to your additional services invoice and must be paid in full before departure.


Health, Passports & Visas

EU Nationals - EU Nationals are recommended to hold a full passport valid for the duration of the holiday and for at least six months after the journey home. Neither visas nor vaccinations are currently required to enter either France or Switzerland.

Booking Conditions

Booking A Holiday 

A holiday booking is made between MJD Luxury Holidays Ltd ('MJD’) and the signatory of your quotation who must be over 18 years of age (‘You’). All correspondence to MJD is to be addressed to: MJD Luxury Holidays Ltd, c/o WMT LLP, 2nd Floor, 45 Grosvenor Road, St Albans, Herts AL1 3AW, England. The booking procedure is as laid out in this web site. The contract between You and MJD is in all circumstances to be governed by these booking conditions.

a.     A contract will come into force only when MJD has acknowledged receipt of your first payment in writing. 

Amendments By You

b.     Amendments must be confirmed in writing, signed by You or any authorised member of your group. They will come into effect on the day they are received by MJD. In any event You hereby agree to indemnify MJD for any reasonable expenses incurred in making an amendment whether or not MJD succeeds in confirming your request.

c.     Subject to availability, any change of dates within the same season more than 70 days prior to departure will be accepted by MJD without charge. A change of dates to a future season or within 70 days of departure will be deemed a full cancellation.

Cancellation By You

d.     In the case of cancellation by You the deposit payment and any final payment already collected will be refunded only if the property is re-sold, the refunded amount will be 90 % of the amount paid to MJD. MJD recommends that You take an insurance policy to cover for cancellation of stay. Any cancellation will come into effect the day written notice is received by MJD. Recorded delivery is strongly recommended or e-mail and asking for confirmation MJD has received it.

e.     You will be liable for any charges incurred by MJD in cancelling any special requests already booked for you.

Amendments By MJD

f.     MJD reserve the right to advise You of a change to your holiday both before and after You make a reservation. An amendment made prior to departure which is deemed to be significant by MJD (for example a change of dates or a change in accommodation standards) gives You the right to cancel the holiday if You choose. Should You cancel in such circumstances You will receive a full refund. In all significant cases we will pay You compensation as detailed below.

g.     Once your holiday has started, MJD will pay You a pro rata refund for any part of your holiday which, due to amendment made by MJD, cannot be taken.

h.     Please note that MJD shall not be liable for any refund should MJD be forced to cancel or change your holiday due to circumstances amounting to Force Majeure. Such circumstances shall include, but are not limited to, war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorism, industrial disruption, natural disasters, fire, techncal problems, adverse weather, governmental action and similar events beyond our control.  Neither MJD nor the chalet owner shall be liable for property issues or failures that are beyond their control.

Cancellation By MJD

i.     In all cases, MJD reserves the right to cancel your holiday for the dates You have reserved. This is extremely unlikely, but should this event occur You would be fully refunded and compensated as set out in clause f. 

j.     If you fail to pay the balance of the booking price or other costs before the due dates, MJD reserve the right to cancel your reservation with no refund to You.

MJD's Responsibilities

k.     MJD accepts responsibility for ensuring that the holiday, which You book with MJD, is supplied as described on the quote provided to you.  MJD accepts liability for any loss You may suffer if your holiday is not as described and MJD will pay You appropriate compensation if this has affected the enjoyment of your holiday. MJD accepts no responsibility if you book your holiday through an agent and the description of the holiday provided to You is different to the MJD description.

l.      MJD accepts responsibility for any loss, death, injury or illness caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of MJD’s employees, agents, suppliers, subcontractors, servants and/or agents of the same whilst acting within the scope of their employment in the provision of your holiday, except where the failure to perform or the improper performance was due to:

            i.           Your own acts or omissions
                         ii.           Acts or omissions of a third party not involved with the provision of your holiday
                         iii.          Circumstances which were unforeseeable or unavoidable even when exercising all due care

m.     MJD’s liabilities shall in all cases be limited in accordance with international conventions concerning transportation and accommodation.

Your Responsibilities

n.     As part of this contract You hereby agree to guarantee payment for any chargeable services requested by any member of your group both before and during your holiday. The Property Director will take a credit card guarantee on Your arrival at the property as well as ask You to sign a form stating that You authorise payments for additional services or property damage to be taken from your credit card(s).  A photocopy of the group leader's passport will also be taken.

0.    You undertake to behave with propriety and in such a manner as in no way to cause distress, damage, danger or injury to other clients, property, vehicles, our employees and/or any third party. The contract of any client in breach of this clause shall be terminated forthwith and we shall have no further contractual obligations. We shall be entitled to recover the cost of any damages or loss caused by You or any member of your party; this must be paid direct at the time to the Property Director. No refunds will be made and we will not pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination.

p.     You agree to use the property for personal lodgings unless agreed in writing by MJD that it may be used for other purposes (eg. photo shoot, seminar etc) .  The property cannot be sublet under any circumstances and evidence of such would mean instant removal of any lodgers from the property without reimbursement of the holiday.

Price Guarantees

q.     The price of Your holiday becomes fixed once the booking has been confirmed. MJD reserves the right to amend prices at anytime due to factors such as currency fluctuation.

r.     MJD reserve the right to decrease prices of unsold holidays and to correct errors at anytime.


Health, Passports and Visas

s.     Please see the section headed 'Health, Passports and Visas'.  It is your responsibility to ensure that documents are in proper order before travel.  MJD accepts no liability for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of Your failure to take reasonable care in this respect.

Medical Conditions and Disabilities

t.     If You or any member of your party have any medical problem or disability, which may affect your holiday, please, tell us before you confirm your booking so that we can advise as to the suitability of the chosen arrangements. In any event, You must give us full details in writing at the time of the booking. If we reasonably feel unable to properly accommodate the particular needs of the person concerned, we must reserve the right to decline the booking or, if full details are not given at the time of booking, cancel where we become aware of details. Please note, in deciding whether we can properly accommodate the persons needs, we are entitled to consider the reasonable needs and requirements of our other clients and practical operational difficulties.

Transport

u.     It is your responsibility to make your group’s travel arrangements, either to the property or to an airport from where MJD can make the resort transfer for You. Where possible You must inform MJD of your own flight arrangements at least four weeks prior to departure, requesting any transfers if applicable.

v.     MJD cannot accept responsibility for guests missing flights for any reason or mislaying or destroying travel documents, and no credit or refund will be given if You fail to take up a component of your holiday as a result.

w.     MJD is not responsible for any flight delays but will still endeavour to transfer You to the chalet from the airport.

Travel Insurance

x.     Please see the section headed 'Travel Insurance' under the section 'Booking Your Holiday'


Special Requests

y.     Please let us know any special requests You may have at the time of booking.  Although MJD cannot guarantee it, we will do our best to meet your request but failing to do so will not constitute a breach of contract on our part. Any special dietary requests (e.g. Vegetarian, Halal or Kosher food) that incur additional costs will be charged to the client.

Any Problems

z.     If You are unhappy with any aspect of your holiday, You must address your complaint immediately to both the chalet manager and the local service provider. In the unlikely event that your problem cannot be resolved locally, You must inform MJD in writing of your complaint within 14 days of your return so that any rights to compensation can be examined. Complaints must be put in writing and sent to our UK Registered Office:  MJD Luxury Holidays Ltd, c/o WMT LLP, 2nd Floor, 45 Grosvenor Road, St Albans, Herts AL1 3AW England.

aa.     In the event that your dispute cannot be settled amicably, it may (if You wish) be referred to arbitration under an inexpensive procedure devised and administered by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Full details are available on request.

Security

bb.    We take the issue of chalet security very seriously, however, owing to the nature of chalet and villa holidays the buildings may not be locked at all times.

cc.    Any valuables left at the property are left at your own risk, MJD are not responsible for their loss. 

Skiing With MJD

dd.    It is the responsibility of You and your group to judge the suitability of each area in which You ski. If You or any member of your group ski in a location on the recommendation of or accompanied by any representative of MJD, MJD will not be liable for any injuries howsoever caused.

Smoking Policy

ee.    To ensure the safety and comfort of all our guests, we ask that You refrain from smoking in the chalet.

MJD Holiday Package Descriptions and Additional Charges

ff.      Food shops: When requested by clients when it is not included in their holiday quote, there will be an additional charge of 40 Euros.  Purchases will be charged at cost to the client.

gg.    Property Staff: MJD reserves the right to determine the best number and type of staff necessary to fulfill a client's holiday.  This may vary to what was quoted.

hh.    In-resort concierge: You may contact your concierge between the hours of 9am and 6pm unless otherwise agreed or in case of an emergency.

ii.      Open bar: MJD provides a 'standard' range of drinks.  If a client requests drinks that are not part of this 'standard' then a surcharge may be applicable.

jj,      Meals: MJD chefs shop to a budget which enables them to deliver a high quality cuisine.  If a client requests ingredients that are considered by MJD not to be 'standard' ingredients (eg lobster, caviar, Halal and Kosher foods) then a surcharge may be applicable.  Any additional meals requested will also incur an extra charge.

kk.    Housekeeping: Any additional housekeeping requested (above what is included within the quote) or for abnormal circumstances (eg You have made the kitchen unnecessarily dirty, a party etc) then a surcharge of 25 Euros per hour will be charged.

General

ll.    Headings within these booking conditions are for reference purposes only and all images are intended to give a general impression only. Payment
Please ensure that You are satisfied with the security of any transaction You have with the provider.  Please contact us if you have any concerns.

Travel Insurance
Before making any booking, ensure that You have adequate holiday and cancellation insurance.

Disputes
MJD is a directory when promoting non-operated properties and therefore will not get involved in any disputes between You and the provider.


General
